Mullein seeds require 4-6 weeks of cold stratification in order to germinate, so are best direct-sown outdoors in the fall or stored in the refrigerator until spring. Start indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Seeds require light to germinate and should emerge in approximately two weeks when pressed lightly into the surface of well-drained soil and kept moist. Transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
