Aglaonema 'Salmon Fantasy'

Salmon-pink midribs, leaf stalks and scattered markings give Aglaonema 'Salmon Fantasy' its warm colouring. The glossy green leaves develop from a compact crown, which gradually becomes a rounded clump as new shoots mature.

Pink tones continue through the stems and leaf bases, so the colour sits through the crown as well as across the foliage. In bright filtered indoor light, the pink pattern stays visible without sun marks on the softer leaf areas.

Colour and habit

  • Growth habit: Rounded clumping crown with upright new leaves and fuller mature growth.
  • Leaf pattern: Green blades with salmon-pink midribs, leaf stalks, margins and flecks.
  • Leaf texture: Smooth glossy foliage with firm, slightly arched blades.
  • Crown colour: Pink tones visible through the leaf stalks and central growth point.

Indoor development and origin

Aglaonema 'Salmon Fantasy' needs the warmth typical of Chinese evergreens. Aglaonema species occur from north-eastern India to Papua New Guinea, mainly in warm, shaded tropical habitats where leaves grow under filtered light rather than direct sun.

In a pot, this cultivar develops through regular new leaves and a compact crown. The warm salmon-pink colour is most visible through the leaf stalks, midrib and scattered leaf markings.

Care guide for Aglaonema 'Salmon Fantasy'

  • Light: Place in bright filtered light. East-facing windows or softened south and west exposure suit the foliage.
  • Watering: Water once the top 2–4 cm of substrate feels dry. Moisten the full root ball, then let it drain.
  • Substrate: Use a chunky but moisture-retentive aroid mix with fine bark, coco coir, perlite and pumice.
  • Drainage: Empty cover pots after watering so the lower roots stay aerated.
  • Temperature: Keep at 18–27 °C. Warm rooms help new leaves unfurl without cold-marked, translucent patches near the crown.
  • Humidity: Moderate humidity reduces sticking and crisping on new leaves. Dry heated rooms may mark young edges.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth, then reduce feeding while growth slows.
  • Repotting: Repot one size up when roots fill the pot and water runs through too quickly.
  • Pruning: Remove older yellowing leaves at the base. Trim older stems above a node so new shoots can form below the cut.
  • Propagation: Divide rooted offsets or root stem cuttings in warm, humid conditions.

New-leaf cues to watch

  • Dull new growth: Check light level, temperature and root health. Very dark placement slows new leaves.
  • Yellowing with soft leaf stalks: Inspect the roots for cold, wet substrate and reduce watering frequency.
  • Brown tips: Review watering pattern, fertiliser strength and dry indoor air.
  • Distorted new leaves: Inspect the crown and leaf undersides for thrips or mites.

Safety notes

Aglaonema 'Salmon Fantasy' contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals. Eaten leaves or stems can cause mouth and throat irritation, so choose a position beyond the reach of pets and small children. Sap may also irritate sensitive skin after cutting.

Its colour is strongest across the whole crown, with green leaves, pink leaf stalks and salmon-toned midribs giving the plant a warm, layered look.

I have a medium sized dog and these were to big for him. A bigger dog would love them. Great for chewers.

Great enrichment
Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs
These are great for our 3 dogs, they’re durable and strong. The pup ford training treats fit great into these and it takes our dogs a good bit to get all the treats out. Easy to clean and a great enrichment toy, will buy again!

My dog looks forward to this every day
Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs
My dog used to have separation anxiety every time I left the house. I tried to find things to distract her when I left, but nothing kept her attention long enough for me to get out of the house. I stuff treats in this ball and she keeps focused and gets all of the treats out. Perfect solution to keep her occupied as I leave for work. Very easy to put treats in and I’ve had it for about 6 months now, which is great because my dog chews toys to pieces within days! High quality ball. I love it so much (well, my dog loves it so much), I bought one to give my neighbor’s dog.

Good toy, wish it was slightly bigger
Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs, Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs
I got the medium to large size ball for my elderly boxer who has suddenly taken to chewing on everything. The toy has been a decent purchase. Pros: not incredibly stiff plastic for elderly dogs. Easy to manipulate to put treats in the spikes. Easy to clean. Seems engaging for my dog. Cons: probably not for super chewers. This size is probably too small for large or extra large dogs. My dog can easily fit this in his mouth and I wish it was just a little bigger. The ball can only hold one mini milk bone per slot, so it makes for treats to be really easily pulled out. Can't comment on durability yet, haven't had it for long enough. Overall, I like this toy. I just wish it was slightly wider or bigger.

Durable, Fun, Useful!
Size: 1.8in for Puppy Dogs
This treat dispenser is so great! For one thing, it's sturdy and will last forever. It will get lost before it wears out. This is my second order because I can't find the first one . . . so I bought this pack of two. In one, I put peanut butter. In the second one, I put toothpaste, just a squirt for each opening. My dog LOVES to chew on this even after she has consumed 98% of whatever I put in there. In short, it occupies her attention, which is a blessing! It's both a treat and a toy. It also bounces well and can be thrown as a ball. It will LAST far longer than any ofher other balls, too. My dog has a tiny mouth and larger balls are too big or too hard for her. If I could give it more stars, I would!
