It can be grown from full sun to part shade and still produces gorgeous foliage and flowers, so 4+ of sunlight is plenty of light. We selected ‘Little Redhead’ because it has quickly become a go to spigelia due to its uniformity and very attractive flowers. Nicely uniform clumps of green foliage yield clusters of tubular fire engine red flowers with visible yellow centers through the entire spring and summer growing period. If you are looking for a native that can be planted in a wide-range of locations and performs like most cultivated garden varieties this is an excellent choice.
